Absolutely Fabulous! Stephen Colbert is hilarious and intelligent.

I really don’t think it is really fair to call Ehrman a theologian. I doubt he’d ever call himself a theologian. Frankly, I’m kind of tired of the Ehrman bashing I’ve seen lately. I know he’s kind of been asking for it by making provocative theological claims, but he does have some important things to say.

The irony of the “theologian” title is well-noted, along with Ehrman’s own apparent acceptance of it. Seems one can deny the creeds and still receive that honor.

It’s possible to acknowledge that Ehrman may not be wrong 100% of the time while still enjoying the strange spectacle of Stephen Colbert defending orthodoxy on a fake news show.

I have to admit I haven’t read anything of Ehrman’s. I’m tempted to buy his New Testament book. It looks meaty!
