Apologies for the lack of posting this week. Hopefully, things will pick up shortly. In the meanwhile, I thought I’d give a few shout-outs to some of the more excellent younger voices on the web, both theological and cultural/political. These are my blog-addictions.Â
The Bright Young Conservative Crowd:
- Postmodern Conservative — James Poulos & Co. observe and encourage the collision of Nietzsche and Russell Kirk (highlight: Jung and the Restless).
- John Schwenkler — Localist libertarian from Berkeley comments on the necessity of arugula to the conservative movement, among other topics (highlight: On Libertarianism and the Benedict Option).
- The Confabulum — A gang of young conservatives propagate anti-movement heresy (highlight: Joe Knows).
- Daniel Larison — Making Byzantine hip once again (highlight: The Urbane Distraction).
- Ross Douthat — Grand New Partier with a commendable knowledge of the greatest sport of all time (highlight: Why the Grassroots Needs Elites).
The Always Provocative Theological Crowd:
- Faith & Theology — One of the best out there, that’s all (highlight: On Learning From the Past).
- Fors Clavigera — James K.A. Smith has been picking up the pace lately, with some excellent results (highlight: Thinking in Tongues).
- Inhabitatio Dei — Halden’s got some of the most consistently interesting and provocative stuff available (highlight: Nature and Grace, Barth and De Lubac).
- Wedgewords – Steven Wedgeworth has, imho, one of the best historically-oriented theoblogs around (highlight:England and Orthodoxy in the 17th cent.).
